Mitie makes smashing chocolate egg donation
Mitie donated 200 delicious chocolate Easter eggs to a shop providing affordable food for families in need.
Community Grocery in Wythenshawe, Manchester, used the donation for an Easter Extravaganza, designed to entertain young people in the neighbourhood.
This isn’t the first time Mitie has supported Community Grocery, which improves the lives of Wythenshawe residents of all ages and backgrounds with a range of community groups and services.
Previously we have assisted with food distribution, collected food donations, helped with the warehouse and tidied gardens for vulnerable residents – a total of over 1,000 volunteering hours.
The charity behind the store also operates a café, where ex-offenders can find jobs to help with their reintegration into society. Mitie has pledged to support this initiative by supplying volunteers to help out. There is also a fully functional kitchen where residents can learn to cook healthy and affordable meals.
The Mitie-Community Grocery partnership demonstrates how organisations can enhance the impact of local charities, benefiting the communities in which they operate.
